Glossary

Words have many meanings, they’re situated in contents and cultures and time. Glossaries help. I've linked to this page whenever a word I use common words in particular ways.

To Read, Read, Reading:

1. I consider reading a process that’s more than the decoding we do with text. Its an interpretive process of listening, looking, questioning. So I include film, TV, audiobooks, music, performances, along with books/texts, when I use the term read/reading.
2. Sometimes, I might also use it in the “reading someone to filth” sense, as in Black and Latinx ballroom culture: laying allll their flaws out. Not sure how to use it in a sentence? Go watch *Pose.*
